In 1982, Doug "The Greaseman" Tracht came to the DC radio market to take the place of Howard Stern after Stern called Air Florida after the airline had a plane crash into the 14th Street Bridge in the area. He ruled the DC airwaves for several years until he was fired for racially insensitive comments.
